Welcome to JLS Computers (jlscomputers.co.za). By using our website and services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the terms and conditions outlined below. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

1. Introduction

These terms govern the sale of goods and the use of the JLS Computers website. The terms “JLS Computers”, “us”, “we”, or “our” refer to JLS Computers CC, the owner of this website. The terms “you” or “your” refer to the user of our website or customer of our services.

The display of products, price lists, and specifications on this website constitutes an invitation to do business, not a binding offer to sell. A contract of sale is only concluded once we have accepted your offer to purchase, confirmed stock availability, and received cleared payment.

We reserve the right to reject any order without providing a reason, in which case any payment received will be refunded in full.

2. Pricing, Quotations, and Payments

  • While we strive for accuracy, errors in pricing may occur. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible and offer you the option to either reconfirm your order at the correct price or cancel it and receive a full refund.
  • All prices quoted are in South African Rand (ZAR) and are final. JLS Computers CC is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on our invoices.
  • Payment methods: we currently accept Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Credit and debit card payments, Instant EFT, digital wallets, and Buy Now Pay Later options will be available soon via Peach Payments.
  • Goods will only be released or dispatched once payment has cleared in our bank account. Proof of Payment (POP) helps us prepare your order but does not guarantee immediate release.
  • All quotes are valid for 24 hours only and are subject to the fluctuation of the South African Rand against the US Dollar. For full payment details, see our Payment Options page.
  • All prices and specifications are subject to Errors and Omissions Excepted (E&OE). We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions and to change or update information at any time without prior notice, even after you have submitted your order. In the event of a significant discrepancy, we will contact you before processing the order.

3. Delivery and Collection

  • We deliver within the borders of the Republic of South Africa. We do not currently ship internationally.
  • Estimated delivery times are 1–2 business days for main centres and 2–3 business days for regional / outlying areas. We are not liable for delays caused by third-party couriers.
  • Delivery rates and free-delivery thresholds are set out in full on our Shipping & Delivery page.
  • Risk in the products passes to you upon delivery to your nominated address or upon collection by your nominated courier. Ownership remains with JLS Computers until full payment has been received and cleared.

4. Warranties

  • We resell products on behalf of our suppliers. Warranties are provided by the manufacturer and administered through our authorised South African distributors. Full detail is set out on our Warranties page.
  • Exclusions: warranties do not cover Acts of God (lightning, surge damage), physical damage, or unauthorised tampering or repairs.

5. Returns and Refunds (CPA & ECT Act Compliance)

  • Cooling-off period: in terms of Section 44 of the ECT Act, you may return unopened items within 7 days of delivery for a full refund of the product price.
  • Defective goods: under Section 56 of the CPA, if a product is defective within 6 months of purchase, you are entitled to a remedy — repair, replacement, or refund. The choice of remedy rests with the supplier in the first instance, subject to the nature of the defect and fair consumer treatment.
  • Change of mind: returns for change of mind are subject to the item being in its original, unopened packaging. A handling fee of up to 15% may apply.

6. Privacy and POPIA

  • We value your privacy. Your personal information is collected and processed only for the purposes of fulfilling your order and providing our services.
  • By using our website, you consent to our collection and processing of data in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). We will never sell your data to third parties. Full detail is on our Privacy Policy page.

7. Product Descriptions, Images, and Specifications

All product images displayed on jlscomputers.co.za are for illustrative purposes only. While we make every effort to ensure images accurately represent the product, the actual item may differ slightly in colour, finish, or design due to manufacturer revisions or photographic lighting.

Technical specifications and features are provided by the manufacturers or distributors. JLS Computers does not warrant that these descriptions are 100% accurate, complete, or error-free.

Manufacturers frequently update components or minor specifications (e.g. port layout, RAM brand) without changing the model number. We are not liable for these manufacturer-led changes.

8. Limitation of Liability

JLS Computers shall not be liable for any indirect, special, or consequential damages (including loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of use) arising from the use of our products or services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. This limitation does not exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

Errors in advertised prices are covered by E&OE. Should an inadvertent and obvious error occur in an advertised price, the price is invalid, and any quote or invoice based on the incorrect price will be null and void in accordance with Section 23 of the Consumer Protection Act.
