The 15-inch MacBook Air is the large-screen Mac for people who do not need a Pro. It runs the same M5 as the 13-inch — a 10-core CPU of four super cores and six efficiency cores, a 16-core Neural Engine, 153GB/s of memory bandwidth — but always with the full 10-core GPU, where the 13-inch entry model has eight.
The display is a 15.3-inch Liquid Retina panel at 2880 × 1864 and 500 nits: nearly two inches more diagonal than the 13-inch, which is the difference between two documents side by side and constant window shuffling. The other real upgrade is sound — six speakers with force-cancelling woofers against the 13-inch’s four, which matters more than it sounds if this machine plays music or carries video calls.
This configuration has 16 GB of unified memory and a 512 GB SSD, both fixed at manufacture. MagSafe 3, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a headphone jack, with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread. A 12 MP Center Stage camera with Desk View, and a 66.5 Wh battery rated up to 18 hours of video streaming. Fanless and silent at 1.51 kg. Note: this unit is supplied without a power adapter. The MXN53 adapter must be purchased separately.
