The entry point to the 16-inch MacBook Pro, and for most professional work it is the sensible one. The M5 Pro runs an 18-core CPU — six super cores and twelve performance cores — with a 20-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine, and feeds them 307GB/s of memory bandwidth. That is enough for multi-stream video editing, large Xcode builds and heavy Logic sessions without moving up to the Max.

The display is a 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR panel at 3456 × 2234, 254 pixels per inch, running ProMotion up to 120 Hz. It sustains 1000 nits full-screen for XDR content and peaks at 1600, which is what makes it usable for grading HDR rather than just previewing it. Configured here with 24 GB of unified memory and a 1 TB SSD.

Connectivity is three Thunderbolt 5 ports, HDMI, an SDXC card slot, headphone jack and MagSafe 3, with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The 100 watt-hour battery is rated up to 24 hours of video streaming — the longest of any MacBook Pro configuration. Note: this unit is supplied without a power adapter.
