On Apple Silicon that figure matters more than it does on a PC, because the CPU, GPU and Neural Engine all draw from the same pool — so memory is what decides how large a project you can hold open before the machine starts paging to disk.

For 4K and 6K timelines, large Photoshop composites, virtual machines or several development environments at once, 48 GB is the configuration that stops memory being the limit. The chip itself is unchanged: an 18-core CPU with six super cores and twelve performance cores, a 20-core GPU, a 16-core Neural Engine and 307GB/s of bandwidth. Storage is a 1 TB SSD.

The 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display runs at 3456 × 2234 with ProMotion to 120 Hz, 1000 nits sustained and 1600 peak. Three Thunderbolt 5 ports, HDMI, SDXC, headphone and MagSafe 3, with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The 100 Wh battery is rated up to 24 hours of video streaming.
